Philip Flynn has put together this awesome ep with some fantastic vocals and constructed melodies.
The first track on the ep is “Boxes Burning”. This is cool the way Philip lays down the vocals, overlapping them as you would with a instrument (well a vocal is an instrument) and its used to its peak here. The only thing on this song was when the heavy guitar kicks in, maybe a softer guitar with a clean sound, but this is a good track.
“Running Start” - here Philip uses the same concept as the first track only with a more blues feel in his vocal with a cool grooving bassline in the background.
“Kicking an Open Door” - this tune has nice soft approach with some nice melodies on the guitar, the vocals hangs nice in this song with a real ambient feel to them.
“Mean Man (three words)” - this tune kind of sounds like an Robert Plant in his Zepplin acoustic vibe, but in a good way with some nice phrasing on the guitar and the vocals sounding superb, this is very well mixed tune excellent stuff.
